INTERFAITH PEACE SEMINAR

Leaders of different religions in Gujranwala have solved many problems due to dialogue,
mutual understanding, and better relations.

Education, Peace and Development Initiative Rabata Society believes in practical efforts to achieve its goals and objectives and in this regard peace seminar was organized to promote better relations between different religions the seminar was held at 4:00 pm on Monday, December 08, 2008, at Gujranwala Arts Council.

Representatives of Christian, Muslim, Sikh and social organizations participated in this seminar. Peace messages reached many people through print media and this seminar was well-received in public circles.

The leaders of all religions in their respective messages agreed on common peace teachings and reiterated their continued struggle for the promotion of peace and also stressed that the scope of peace seminars should be expanded so that the people living at the common level would benefit.

Seminar organizer Shahzad Lawrence urged the participants that leaders of every religion should urge their followers to respect each other’s religion. Tolerance and tolerance in society will spread peace and help in creating a peaceful society.

Mr. Muhammad Akram Rahat in his welcome speech said that this is a time when the world is facing so many challenges and interfaith harmony is one of them. Being a human being, Pakistani and True Muslim this is our moral responsibility to struggle for the promotion of Peace at any cast.

Pakistan Aman Tehrik said that all the people
regardless their cast, religion, color should come
forward and highlight the message of peace in their
circles. Mr. Muhammad Mollana Zahid Saleem
Chairman Punjab Peace Committee stressed and
appeal to all the people for the promotion of Peace
in the Pakistan.

Mr. Shahzad Lawrence while addressing suggested that the religious leaders should take the responsibility and guide the people in the right way and during their religious sermons the message of
Love, Peace, brotherhood, social and religious harmony should be delivered to the believers. Ms. Shazia Rauf Patron I CMRS said that the role of women in the process of peace is necessary and women are taking active part in the activities regarding peace and social harmony in Pakistan.
