After the attacks by mobs on the churches, Punjab Government instructed all officials to conduct meetings with stakeholders in connection with the promotion of peace and harmony likewise, Mr. Fayyaz Ahmed Mohal, Deputy Commissioner of Gujranwala and DIG Rana Muhammad Ayaz Saleem, City Police Officer called a meeting of the District Peace Committee here today.

Earlier, on the direction of City Police Officer Rana Muhammad Ayyaz Saleem fool-proof security measures have been taken and police deployed at Churches to avoid any unpleasant incident. Prof. Shahzad Lawrance and Rev. Arif Masih Siraj highly appreciated this step.

Representatives of the Muslim and Christian religious groups participated and expressed unity and harmony. Moreover, Muslim religious leaders expressed their wish to visit the churches to express their sympathy with Christian religious leaders. This is an important idea to promote respect for religions. This is a very unique initiative and we expect productive and positive output after this visit. It will promote religious harmony between Muslim-Christian coordination.
