Rabata Society visits to promote peace and religious harmony in interfaith society during Eid-ul-Adah 2024

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adah ) in June 2024( the Rabata Society visited the homes of Muslim religious leaders and members of the Peace Committee. They were presented with cakes and congratulated on Eid.

Shahzad Lawrence and Fr. Emmanuel Ahmad visited the religious leaders of different sects on the first day of Eid Ul Adah on the 17th day of June 2024.

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, every Muslim wishes to buy a sacrificial animal and sacrifice it in the way of Allah.

On their first visit, Mr. Shahzad Lawrence visited the house of Mr. Saeed Saddique who is a member of the District Peace Committee, Gujranwala, and exchanged greetings on the eve of Eid Ul Adah. Mr. Siddique welcomed the Rabata initiative. He served the guest with food. It was a wonderful meeting.

The first day of Eid is very busy because of the sacrifice. But we are grateful to our scholars who spared time for us. During these meetings, the importance of Muslim-Christian dialogue was emphasized.

The process of Eid greetings by Muslim scholars was declared indispensable for the promotion of religious harmony. It was considered the best practice for the contact society as sharing the joys of Eid is a sustainable and joyful practice.

Among the objectives of the Rabata Society is that the meetings should continue for the promotion of Muslim-Christian dialogue. Because it fosters mutual love and relationships and helps end many Christian-Muslim conflicts before they start.

Later, the delegation visited Mr. Muhammad Saleem Zahid a religious leader, and wished him Eid with Cake. It was a very pleasant feeling when he appreciated the role of Christians in promoting peace and harmony.

It was a pleasant feeling to meet so many people during the days of Eid, which had an aroma of fellowship, sincerity, and brotherhood.

Taking time for each other and sharing in their happiness is the best example of morality in a selfish and fast-paced age. With which the Muslim community is happy.

Some interesting facts about the Eid Ul Adah

This year, since the intensity of heat is relatively high in Punjab. The government is also encouraging the public to take precautionary measures to avoid the heat, so the traders are waiting for the evening because many citizens with children prefer to leave their homes in the evening.

The Cattle markets are organized by the government where people bring their animals and wait for good buyers. There is also a vet facility for veterinary treatment and vaccinations. As Eid approaches, these markets are crowded with buyers and buyers are looking for their favorite healthy animal. Finding a healthy, suitable pet is no less than a challenge. Most buyers take a close friend, or relative for this task to facilitate the decision-making.

Many jobs are also associated with this Eid. For example, in the case of buying sacrificial animals before Eid, fodder is bought daily for their food. Children’s interest in the feeding process is palpable. And the atmosphere of Eid before Eid at home is very attractive. Moreover, Colorful ropes, henna, etc. are also used to decorate the animals.

Another interesting fact of Eid is the walk of sacrificial animals in the streets and markets. In which children, youth, and elders walk with their animals. Care in the care of animals before sacrifice is very necessary because the animal must be flawless for sacrifice. The provision of butchers on Eid al-Adha is also an interesting phase. The majority slaughter and process their animals. Since the number of sacrificial animals is high, the demand for butchers is also an integral part. Since its labor is high, some clumsy butchers also enter the field to try their luck.

The majority of the Families who can afford to sacrifice an animal (a cow, camel, goat, or sheep) for ritual purposes do so during the festival, as the underprivileged, and their friends and neighbors. Eid al-Adha is also a time for gift-giving and visiting with loved ones. In the meat distribution phase, importance is given to relatives, relatives, friends, and deserving people.

To dispose of animal remains, the Deputy Commissioner of our district Gujranwala Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, and his team distributed bags while informing the citizens. So that animal fouling does not spread and the waste management company completes its work efficiently and timely.
