EDUCATIONAL & INTER-FAITH VISITS
The Rabata Society, in collaboration with the Vital Group of College, organized a groundbreaking interfaith study tour on Thursday, 15th May 2025, to educate youth about religious diversity. This joint initiative is part of Rabata’s ongoing commitment to promote tolerance, understanding, and peaceful coexistence among students of different faiths. By creating safe spaces for dialogue and providing firsthand experiences, Rabata continues to pave the way for young people to become ambassadors of peace in an increasingly polarized world.
Purpose
Rabata organized an insightful visit to Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church and Saint Paul’s Presbyterian Church, aiming to provide students with a deeper understanding of Christian traditions, architecture, and cultural heritage. As they entered the peaceful church premises, students were warmly welcomed by the staff and guided through the history and significance of the sacred space. The serene atmosphere, stained glass windows, and symbolic religious artifacts offered students a unique opportunity to observe and reflect on the richness of Christian spirituality and its role in shaping communities.
Objective
This visit will illuminate the possibilities for future Muslim-Christian contact by fostering mutual understanding, dialogue, and cooperation between the two faith communities. Through shared experiences, open discussions, and collaborative initiatives, it will highlight practical ways to build trust, dispel misconceptions, and promote respect for religious diversity. By addressing the root causes of intolerance and emphasizing common values of peace, justice, and compassion, the visit can serve as a meaningful step toward reducing religious extremism and laying the groundwork for long-term harmony and coexistence.
