RECENT ACTIVITIES

Mr. Shahzad Lawrence participated in the 7 th International Conference on World Religions, held on 26-27 October 2024 at Minhaj University, Lahore Pakistan. The Conference Theme was “Politics and Violence in the Name of Religion”.

An interfaith meeting between Christian and Muslim religious leaders was organized at Saint Francis Xavier Parish here on 12.06.2024 . The meeting was chaired by Rev. Fr. Yousaf Yaqoob a Parish Priest. The meeting started at 9 am. The participants appreciated Mr. Shahzad Lawrence for organizing this meeting.

29.10.2023 The picture with Prof. Dr. Hussain Muhi Ud Din Qadri Deputy Chairman Board of Governors, Minhaj University Lahore, and Prof. Dr. Herman Robough Head School of Religion and Philosophy on the occasion of the 6th International Conference on World Religions held on 28-29 October 2023 at Minhaj University, Lahore.
Our small effort is to raise awareness among common localities about the environment and to improve the Environmental Atmosphere. In this regard, an awareness program was staged with school children on Monday, 4th December 2023.
EPDI members heard heart-wrenching stories from various families. The affected families said that we are grateful that the members of EPDI Rabata Society came to support us financially and express solidarity. The Jaranwala incident is an example of religious bigotry and social discrimination.
In Jaranwala, churches and houses were burnt down by angry mobs in recent days. Members of the EDPI Rabata Society visited leather market locations and met the affected families. The affected families were sitting in tents in the street and food and drink items were being provided to them by various social organizations.

Freedom of opinion is the right of every human being. Every peaceful person in the world condemns the desecration of the holy books of any religion. The Quran is a holy book for us, the desecration of which is a violation of the rights of billions of people.
Our efforts proved fruitful
Known local Muslim and Christian leaders arranged several meetings to establish peace. The local Catholic community met their parish priest Rev. Fr. Francis Gulzar and shared the entire situation.
20th day of September 2022
This day was remarkable for the community of Aroop. St. Mary’s Catholic Church proved a center for peace. Prof. Shahzad Lawrence member District Peace Committee led the reconciliation meeting. He welcomed representatives of both committees. They promised to join hands for the promotion of peace and religious harmony in future.
